Lake Fire Continues to Rage North of Los Angeles

The Lake Fire has burned over 11,000 acres in the Angeles National Forest and has forced road closures and evacuations in surrounding areas. 

The blaze was reported Wednesday afternoon. According to Inciweb, at 4 p.m., the fire was roughly 50 acres. Two hours later, it had spread to nearly 10,000 acres. 

As of Friday morning, the fire has grown to 11,636 acres and is only 12% contained. Steep terrain and triple-digit temperatures are slowing firefighters’ progress. The cause of the blaze has yet to be determined. No injuries have been reported.
