Moratorium Recommended for El Dorado Fire

Moratorium Recommended for El Dorado Fire

The El Dorado fire, which started on September 5th, has grown to over 10 thousand acres. Evacuation orders are in place for eastern portions of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.

According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), more than 600 personnel are battling the blaze. Containment is currently listed at 16%. Triple-digit temperatures and Santa Ana winds are hindering containment efforts as the fire threatens Yucaipa, California.

Opterrix’s automated moratorium module recommends insurers declare a moratorium for the surrounding area to protect against unnecessary losses.
