Glass Fire Continues to Threaten Napa and Sonoma Counties

Mandatory evacuations are underway for the city of Calistoga and portions of Sonoma County, as the Glass Fire continues to burn its destructive path through wine country.

The blaze has burned more than 48 thousand acres. Firefighters are rushing to take advantage of a break in the winds, bringing containment up to only 2%.

CAL FIRE’s latest update stated, “Crews experienced active fire behavior, and continue to focus on structure defense in both Sonoma and Napa counties while building and reinforcing containment lines.” The fire still threatens more than 22,000 structures. Hot, windy weather is expected to make things more challenging in the days ahead.
